Swedish Folk Music Treasures: Peter Puma Hedlund

The 10th volume in my Treasures series focuses on nyckelharpa player Peter Puma Hedlund, born in 1957. His repertoire is broad and deep, spanning the musical gamut from rooted traditional to contemporary folk. His music largely represents Uppland and Hälsingland. Peter is a prolific and inspired composer as well as one of the main forces in the dissemination of the nyckelharpa and its music to many new corners of the world

He is a two time (1992 & 2000) Nyckelharpa World Championship winner, and was honored with the Zorn Gold Medal in 2010

Filming took place Peter’s home in Vallsta, Hälsingland, Sweden, in May 2014.

All my Treasures films were originally for sale and distributed in DVD format. In 2024 I decided to release the films on YouTube.
